Ruslana Korshunova (July 2, 1987 – June 28, 2008) was a model from Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Korshunova was discovered in November 2003 by Debbie Jones of Models 1. She was represented by IMG (New York, Paris, London), Beatrice (Milan), and iCasting Moscow.

On June 28, 2008, Korshunova fell to her death from a window in her New York City apartment in an apparent suicide.

Maybe she was a major celebrity, but I never heard about her so I will categorize her as minor celebrity.

Uga is the name of a lineage of English Bulldogs owned by Frank W. "Sonny" Seiler, which have served as the mascot of the University of Georgia (UGA) since 1956. Although the University is located in Athens, Georgia, Uga lives with the Seilers in Savannah, Georgia.

To date, there have been six dogs to carry the name "Uga", which is derived from an abbreviation for the University of Georgia. Each is the son of his predecessor. Deceased Ugas are interred in a mausoleum near the main entrance to Sanford Stadium. The current presiding mascot, Uga VI, passed away of a heart attack on Friday, June 27, 2008.

George Denis Patrick Carlin (May 12, 1937 – June 22, 2008) was a Grammy-winning American stand-up comedian, actor, author, and philosopher.

On June 22, 2008, George Carlin was admitted to St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, California complaining of chest pain. George Carlin died later that day at 5:55 p.m. PDT of heart failure at the age of 71. He had a history of cardiovascular problems, including several heart attacks

About George Carlin
Carlin was especially noted for his political and black humor and his observations on language, psychology, and religion along with many taboo subjects. Carlin and his "Seven Dirty Words" comedy routine were central to the 1978 U.S. Supreme Court case F.C.C. v. Pacifica Foundation, in which a narrow 5-4 decision by the justices affirmed the government’s right to regulate Carlin’s act on the public airwaves.

Carlin’s mid-2000s stand-up routines focused on the flaws in modern-day America. He often took on contemporary political issues in the United States and satirized the excesses of American culture.

A disciple of Lenny Bruce, he placed second on the Comedy Central cable television network list of the 10 greatest stand-up comedians, ahead of Bruce and behind Richard Pryor. He was a frequent performer and guest host on The Tonight Show during the three-decade Johnny Carson era, and was also the first person to host Saturday Night Live.

Publicist Gene Schwam said Charisse was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on June 16, 2008 after suffering an apparent heart attack. She died the following day, aged 86.

On November 9, 2006, in a private White House ceremony, President George W. Bush presented Cyd Charisse with the National Medal of the Arts and Humanities, the highest official U.S. honor available in the arts

Stan Winston (April 7, 1946 – June 15, 2008) was an American visual effects supervisor, make-up artist, and film director. He was best known for his work in the Terminator series, the Jurassic Park series, Aliens, the Predator series, and Edward Scissorhands. He won a total of four Academy Awards for his work.

Stan Winston died on June 15, 2008, at his home in Malibu, California after suffering for seven years with multiple myeloma. Stan Winston  was 62 years old at the time of his death.  A spokeswoman reported that "Stan died peacefully at home surrounded by family.

Timothy John Russert, Jr. (May 7, 1950 – June 13, 2008) was an American journalist who hosted NBC’s Meet the Press. He was NBC News’ Washington Bureau Chief and hosted a weekly interview program on MSNBC Tim Russert. He was a frequent correspondent and guest on NBC’s The Today Show and Hardball. He co-hosted the network’s presidential Election Night coverage and presented the polling results of the NBC News/Wall Street Journal survey on the NBC Nightly News. Russert died from a sudden heart attack on June 13, 2008.

Shortly after 13:30 EDT on the afternoon of June 13, 2008, Russert collapsed at the offices of WRC-TV, which houses the Washington, D.C. bureau of NBC News where he was the Bureau Chief, while recording voiceovers for the Sunday edition of Meet the Press. The District of Columbia Fire and Rescue service received a call from NBC at 13:40 and dispatched an EMS unit which arrived at 13:44. The responding paramedics attempted to defibrillate Russert’s heart three times on scene before transporting him to Sibley Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at 14:23.

Charlie Jones (November 9, 1930 – June 12, 2008) was an Emmy Award-winning former sportscaster for NBC and ABC.

Biography
Jones started at ABC in 1960 broadcasting American Football League games. In 1965, he moved to NBC, continuing to broadcast the AFL and later the National Football League. He would work NFL games until 1997, when NBC lost their NFL broadcasting rights to CBS. During his time at NBC, he also broadcast the 1988 Summer Olympics, 1986 FIFA World Cup, 1992 Summer Olympics and 1996 Summer Olympics as well as golf and Wimbledon. He was also a play-by-play announcer for the Cincinnati Reds and Colorado Rockies. In the mid 1970s, he hosted Almost Anything Goes, The American Frontier, and Pro-Fan. Jones, along with Frank Shorter, provided the voices of the TV announcers for a fictionalized staging of the U.S. Olympic Track and Field trials in the 1982 film, Personal Best.

Shane is a 1953 western film made by Paramount Pictures. It was produced and directed by George Stevens from a screenplay by A.B. Guthrie Jr., based on the 1949 novel of the same name by Jack Schaefer. The cinematography was by Loyal Griggs, the music score by Victor Young and the costume design by Edith Head.

The film stars Alan Ladd, Jean Arthur and Van Heflin with Brandon De Wilde, Elisha Cook Jr., Jack Palance and Ben Johnson.
